PARK STREET Angels A Chronicle of Hope
PARK STREET Angels is the story of three contemporary "good Samaritans" who befriended and found a home for a man who was homeless.
In the summer of 2006, Christina Nordstrom befriended a homeless man in Boston. He sat on a milk crate on the sidewalk outside Park Street Church almost every day. Rather than avoid eye contact, she was moved to cross the street and greet "Bob" one morning. She subsequently learned why he became homeless and how to constructively help him. Together, with two additional contemporary "good Samaritans" - Sue Straley and Jonathan Margolis - they facilitated his progress from the corner of Park Street (Boston) to Hearth's Ruggles Assisted Living Community - a permanent home for older, disabled adults who were homeless.
With his consent, Christina has chronicled her 18-month journey with "Bob" into an inspiring manuscript. PARK STREET Angels is a compassionate story that articulates the fear of, and the frustration with homelessness; yet demonstrates how a positive "ripple" can be generated in this sea of despair - one person at a time.
